Declan Rice was the hero after Arsenal survived a scare from Luton Town in a seven-goal thriller in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s midfield star, Declan Rice, has been christened the master of late goals by the Premier League.

Rice’s latest accolade came after he inspired the Gunners to a 4-3 win against newly promoted Luton Town on Tuesday night in the league.

The England international had been making waves following his record-breaking move to the Emirates from West Ham in the summer.

Rice, 24, has been one of the best performers this season in the Premier League and earned a nickname after his late winner against the Hatters.

In a pulsating encounter between the title contenders and their relegation-threatened hosts, the defensive midfielder turned out to be the decisive difference between the team in the seven-goal classic.

After an end-to-end encounter that saw both teams take turns to lead at some point in the game, there was nothing to separate both sides at 3-3 heading into stoppage time.

But in the dying minute of the clash, with nerves frayed and fans biting their nails, Declan Rice seized the moment to be the hero.

The former Hammer towered above everyone to head home the winner just seconds before the final whistle to send Arsenal fans in the stadium and around the world into a frenzy.

Rice hailed by Premier League

In the end, the Gunners emerged victorious, and their big-money buy, Rice, stood tall as the deserved hero of the day.

His winner against the Hatters made headlines as the latest late goal from the England international, with the Premier League calling him the master of late goals after the game.

“Scores in the 96th minute vs Man Utd, Scores in the 97th minute vs Luton.” the PL posted on X.com at fulltime.

“Declan Rice is a master of the late goal,” the post added.

Rice’s winner for Arsenal sees the Gunners extend their lead at the top of the table to five points off second-placed Liverpool, and one extra above champions, Manchester City, who sit third.
