Arsenal has given Jack Wilshere permission to speak with MLS side Colorado Rapids about becoming their manager.

Wilshere is believed to have impressed during an interview with the Rapids, but no decision has been taken regarding whether to hire him.

The former England star has been in charge of Arsenal's Under 18 team and has impressed with the team.

The 31-year-old is reportedly on the verge of securing his first managerial job after retiring from football last summer.

Colorado Rapids considering hiring Wilshere

According to The Athletic, Wilshere has been given permission by Arsenal to speak with the MLS team Colorado Rapids.

The report also states that the former England midfielder is interested in a senior management position if the proper chance emerges.

The Rapids, who, like Arsenal, are owned by the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Group, fired Robin Fraser in September with Chris Little taking charge as interim coach.

In July of last year, Wilshere returned to Arsenal after announcing his retirement at the age of 30.

Since then, he has been in charge of the club's under-18 team and led the Gunners to the FA Youth Cup final the previous year.

The former Arsenal star has now been offered the chance to manage a team but a final decision is yet to be made.
