Argentina 4-0 Nigeria: Flying Eagles sent packing from FIFA U20 World Cup
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 4-0 defeat to their counterparts from Argentina in a FIFA U20 World Cup round of 16 clash on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Argentina dominated the Flying Eagles from start to finish at the Estadio Nacional in Chile.

They Flying Eagles have not been convincing since their opening group stage match loss against Norway.
They bounced back with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Saudi Arabia in their second game and their third group match ended in a 1-1 draw with Colombia, securing their place in the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams.
However, their journey came to an end against a relentless Argentine side victorious in all games so far at the tournament.
Argentina wasted no time taking the lead in the 2nd minute when Alejo Sarco scored, assisted by Dylan Gorosito.
Maher Carrizo doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute with a clinical finish as the South American side went into the break with a comfortable lead.
The second half saw Carrizo strike again in the 53rd minute, this time assisted by Milton Delgado, completing his brace.
The final goal came in the 66th minute, with substitute Mateo Silvetti adding a fourth, assisted by Gianluca Prestianni.
Argentina with a record six U-20 World Cup titles are among the favorites to be champions.
