Amorim Nightmare: Man United to pay heavily IF they sack head coach amid shambolic spell

Manchester United’s season is unravelling at lightning quick pace.

 A disastrous start has left the Red Devils languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, 10 months after Rúben Amorim was appointed to try and restore them back to their glory days.

 A 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City over the weekend has only deepened the crisis, leaving supporters restless.

 The spotlight on the Portuguese coach grows harsher with every game, but sacking him will not be simple.

Daily Mail reports that United would need to pay £12 million in compensation if Amorim is dismissed before the first anniversary of his deal on November 1. 

His contract runs until 2027 and is worth £6.5m a season. 

The payout also covers his coaching staff, and the clause has left club bosses facing a financial headache. 

Axing Amorim early would come at a heavy cost, even as results continue to slide. 

The size of the settlement could buy the manager more time in the job than results alone would justify.

United have collected just four points from their opening four matches.

 It is without a doubt, their worst league start in 33 years. 

The heavy loss to City followed a run of poor performances and left the club in 14th place.

Amorim has already made headlines over his own future. 

In May, he claimed he would walk away “without compensation” if United no longer wanted him. 

Reports now suggest that promise is unlikely to be honoured, with the £12m clause seen as watertight.

United’s next game is a crunch dinner date with Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Defeat for United could deepen the crisis as the Red Devils have only picked up one win so far in their first four games of the season.
