Alisha Lehmann: 'World's sexiest footballer' returns to ex-boyfriend Douglas Luiz 1 year after controversial split

A year ago, Aston Villa duo Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz  made headlines when they decided to end their relationship.

 The break-up caught the attention of fans and media alike, sparking discussions on social media over the reason behind the split.

As per various outlets, the couple decided to part ways in November 2022 following a disagreement centred around Lehmann's involvement in her official 2023 calendar, where she featured in a series of provocative poses.

However, the Villa duo have apparently ironed out their differences and made up amid rumours of a reunion.

According to sources,  Alisha Lehmann, 24, and Douglas Luiz, 25, have decided to give their relationship another chance, reigniting the flame that had once burned brightly. 

Speculations about their reunion had emerged since September 2023, sparking excitement and curiosity among fans.

Pulse Sports reported that months later, Luiz commented on Lehmann’s post on Instagram, after the Villa duo followed back each other on Instagram.

Lehmann, the most followed female footballer in the world, uploaded a photo dump to celebrate the new year in style.

The Swiss international posted photos of herself in the company of her closest friend and family as she captioned: 'Happy 2024', before the Brazilian midfielder commented underneath: 'I love you'.

The post which has since garnered over 647,000 likes on Instagram showcases two pictures of Lehmann and Luiz. 

Initially, they are seen in a group photo, and subsequently, they capture a more intimate moment with a snapshot featuring just the two of them.

Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz are understood to have began dating in 2021.

The couple announced their relationship in 2021 via an Instagram story that showed the couple kissing. 

Having notched seven goals in 48 appearances for Switzerland, Lehmann made the move to England in 2018, signing with West Ham. 

During her three-year tenure with the club, she also had a brief loan spell at Everton in 2021 before ultimately transferring to Villa.

Since joining Villa two years ago, Lehmann's goal tally for the club has reached seven in 49 matches, showcasing her scoring prowess and contributions to the team.

Douglas Luiz on the other hand has been an integral member for Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Having joined the club from Manchester City in 2019, the Brazil international has made over 178 appearances for Villa, scoring 19 times and creating 19 assists during the time.
