After a 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, City dropped to fifth place with nine games remaining.

Guardiola acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying,

"Nine games, nine finals. I'm always confident. I am a master. I find the positiveness in everything. I know it will be difficult."

City's Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush scored for the champions, and just when it looked like they would seal the win, an own goal by Abdukodir Khusanov forced the teams to settle for a point each.

City have had a torrid season, but a Champions League finish and an FA CUP trophy remain in sight, and could salvage a tough campaign.

Haaland made history by achieving 100 Premier League goal involvements in just 94 games, surpassing Alan Shearer's record.
