Emilio Nsue did not hold back after being suspended by FEGUIFUT and opened a can of worms about the federation's dealings.

AFCON 2023 top scorer, Emilio Nsue, has come forward with serious accusations against the Equatorial Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT). Nsue's grievances extend far beyond his and teammate Ivan Edu Salvador's exclusion from the national team for alleged "gross indiscipline,” but paint a grim picture of corruption, mismanagement, and neglect in the Federation.

Here are the seven major allegations Nsue has brought to light, calling for an urgent reform within FEGUIFUT:

1. Financial Mismanagement:

Nsue accused the federation of embezzling over €1 million earned from CAN 2022 in Cameroon, with no account of the money's whereabouts.

2. Unpaid Hotel Debts:

The federation allegedly owes money to a hotel in Malabo, where the national team stays during rallies and the Players were asked to vacate the premises due to these unpaid debts.

3. Presidential Indifference and pilfering:

According to Nsue, the president of FEGUIFUT Bouba Sampil, reportedly distances himself from the federation's problems, stating that he is not the sports minister, while allegedly being involved in financial discrepancies.

4. False Promises for Local Football:

Despite claims of earmarking competition friends for reinvestment into local football, the national championship was halted just two months after its commencement due to financial issues.

Nsue also noted that stadiums which were used to host the 2016 AFCON and were meant to boost local football have gone into disarray.

5. Threats and Blackmail:

Nsue also highlighted threats to local players and financial exploitation of his teammates, as well as threats and blackmail attempts made against the national team coach.

According to Nsue, there were threats to fire the national team coach, Juan Micha, unless he publicly declared Nsue and Edu Salvador as disruptive elements to the team.

6. Lack of Professional Medical Support:

Nsue exposed the inadequacy of medical support for the national team, highlighting a physiotherapist named “Elias” who, for 12 years, never provided proper massages, relying solely on ibuprofen for pain management.

According to Nsue the Physiotherapist in question has managed to keep hold of his job with the national team by being a spy for the federation’s bosses.

7. Exploitation of Players' Families:

The federation allegedly refuses to provide match tickets for players' families, forcing players to pay out of their pockets, further straining their financial obligations.

These allegations shed light on deep-rooted issues within FEGUIFUT, painting a picture of a federation plagued by corruption, mismanagement, and a lack of accountability. Nsue's bold stance against these practices not only highlights the need for immediate reform but also calls for support from the government and the international football community to address these grievances and restore integrity to Equatorial Guinea's football administration.
