The Liverpool defender was defiant even after the club dropped points again
Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has spoken defiantly even in the face of serious obstacles, as he claims that the Reds will never give up but will continue to fight for the top four despite having an arduous task before them to make it.
Liverpool struggling for Premier League form
Liverpool’s most recent fixture saw them stumble against league leaders Arsenal at Anfield, as they needed a special second half to claw their way back from a 2-0 deficit.
After Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus threatened to give Arsenal their first win at Anfield, Liverpool needed goals from Mohamed Salah and Gunners' specialist Roberto Firmino to draw level and avoid a second league defeat at home this season.
Liverpool were inches away from a win as Salah saw a penalty fail to hit the target in the second half, and the Reds saw several chances go begging mostly due to Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale’s incredible performance.

Liverpool will rue the dropped points against Arsenal after failing to win a game where they had by far the better chances cost them two precious points in the race for the top four.
Van Dijk says Liverpool are not the giving-up type
Liverpool are barely hanging on to dreams of European football next season and are currently eighth on the Premier League table, 12 points adrift of fourth-place Manchester United, nine points behind Tottenham in fifth, and three points behind Aston Villa in sixth, the last European place.
Liverpool have not won since early March when they defeated Manchester United 7-0 and have watched their European dreams slowly fade away, but while others might be set to give up on them, Van Dijk insists that the players will not give up but will continue trying to make the European places.
Speaking after the draw against Arsenal, Van Dijk said, “With hard work we all believe we can get back to creating more special moments together. This team will never give up”.
Liverpool have nine games left to save their season but the odds are firmly against them. They would try to do a repeat of the 2020/21 season where they battled in the last few games of the season to sneak into the top four and qualify for te UEFA Champions League.
