Tottenham have announced that Antonio Conte has left his role as manager by mutual consent, and his assistant Cristian Stellini will take over until the end of the season.

Conte took the Tottenham job during the 2021/22 season and helped steady the ship, clinching Champions League qualification. He has now left the role by mutual consent.

Conte departs

Tottenham announced via their official channels that Antonio Conte has left the club by mutual consent.

The exit comes after an explosive interview in which Conte publicly criticised his players and the club's culture.

Following the incident, Tottenham mulled over his future, and after a brief period in which his continuation was in doubt, the club has now announced that he has left the role.

Cristian Stellini, Conte's assistant, who took charge while the Italian manager was out with illness, will take charge as head coach, along with Ryan Mason as the assistant head coach, until the end of the season.

The club's chairman, Daniel Levy, released a statement on the club website, saying Spurs will fight for a Champions League place in the remaining games of the season while calling for the support of the fans.

Daniel Levy: “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters.”
