Manchester City preparing for Gundogan's potential exit
Manchester City have reportedly identified an ideal replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, should the German leave the club in the summer.
Gundogan is now in the final six months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and is free to start negotiations over a pre-contract agreement with whichever club he decides to.
It is also reported that City boss Pep Guardiola will accept Gundogan’s decision if he chooses to leave. The Germany international is believed to be in talks over an extension but those discussions are moving slowly.
Barcelona and clubs in Turkey are said to be keeping a close eye on developments with the intention of moving forwards with a formal contract offer.
Man City want Brighton's Mac Allister to replace Gundogan
According to TyC Sports, Man City will make an approach for Mac Allister if Gundogan leaves the club.
Guardiola is said to be a keen admirer of Mac Allister, who shone for Argentina during their run to World Cup glory in Qatar last year.
The 24-year-old is under contract with the Seagulls until the summer of 2025, although Brighton do possess a one-year option to extend until 2026.
