The Italian official who clashed with Mourinho has been suspended, as the Roma manager returns for the Juventus match.

Jose Mourinho is free and available to be on the touchline when AS Roma take on Juventus in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night.

Mourinho had initially been suspended for the encounter after he was banned for two games following his conduct in Roma’s 2-1 loss to Cremonese on Tuesday.

Mourinho has the last laugh

The Portuguese tactician was banned for two games and fined €10,000 after arguing with the fourth official on the touchline.

However, following the game, Mourinho said he reacted angrily because of what the fourth official Marco Serra said to him.

The ex-Chelsea manager even went further to say he is considering taking legal action against the referee, provided there is an audio recording of their conversation.

However, Mourinho’s ban has now been suspended by the Italian football federation after the  Federal Prosecutor investigated the incident on Wednesday.

Mourinho still awaits final decision but Serra is suspended

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as per, Roma press, Mourinho attended the hearing on Wednesday and it appears the prosecutors agree with him.

Although a final decision has not been reached, the FIGC has decided to suspend Mourinho’s ban and suspend Serra indefinitely till a decision is reached.

It means Mourinho wil able to take his place on the bench when Roma welcome Juventus to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night.

The decision is a big boost for Roma, who need their coach’s influence on the touchline as they chase a Champions League spot.

The Yellow and Reds cannot afford to drop more points after missing out on the chance to go second in their match against Cremonese.

A win for Roma will take them just one point behind second-place Lazio.
