Caicedo, 21, was targeted by both Arsenal and Chelsea but Brighton refused to budge in their decision not to sell the talented Ecuador international.
The club were left incensed by his public stance of wanting to leave for a more lucrative offer and Arsenal’s persistent bidding that he was told to stay away from training until the transfer deadline had passed.
On Caicedo’s new deal, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi said:
“This is fantastic news for the club, our fans, for me and most importantly for Moises. It will make us stronger as we move forward towards our targets on the pitch.”
Caicedo spent time on loan at Belgian side Beerschot before becoming a fixture in the Brighton first-team at towards the end of the 2021-22 season
With the exception of one match, Caicedo has appeared in every league game for Brighton this season under both Graham Potter and De Zerbi.
