Four South American countries have announced a joint bid for the 2030 World Cup
Argentina leads the coalition of South American countries that have announced a bid to host the 2030 World Cup.
Along with Uruguay, Chile, and Paraguay, Argentina will be hoping to bring the Mundial back to South America for the first time since Brazil hosted it in 2014.

The official bid was announced at a press conference held in Buenos Aires, with the nations confirming their intention to host the 2030 World Cup.
A decision will not be made by FIFA on the host of the 2030 World Cup until next year, but countries are already preparing hosting bids.
The South American quartet are the first to announce their bid, but there are already rumours that Saudi Arabia is preparing an official bid as well, as evidenced by their recent forays into mainstream football, the decision to sign key football ambassadors, and the success of Qatar’s World Cup.
Other bids for the 2030 World Cup
There is also believed to be European interest in hosting the 2030 World, with the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as Spain and Portugal, believed to be pondering official bids.
Morocco is also thought to be interested in hosting the 2030 World Cup after the success of the first ‘Arab’ tournament and the country's record-breaking feats in Qatar.

Argentina has not hosted the World Cup since the 1978 tournament, which they won, while Uruguay has not hosted since the first edition of the World Cup in 1930, which they also won.
Chile also hosted the World Cup in 1962 and reached the semifinals, while Paraguay have never hosted the World Cup and have only been as far as the quarterfinals in 2010.
