Arsenal sends a new bid to Brighton for Moises Caicedo after their initial bid was rejected.

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a second bid for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo after their initial bid of €60 million was rejected.

The Premier League leaders are in the market for a defensive-midfielder, and they have the Colombian star at the top of their shopping list. The gunners are showing conviction in their pursuit, as they have now sent in a new bid after they were turned down the first time.

Arsenal’s second bid

Arsenal have reportedly sent in a new bid worth €70 million to Brighton for the purchase of Moises Caicedo after their initial €60 million offering was turned down.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal have tabled a €60 million guaranteed fee plus €10 million in add-ons, totalling €70 million for the 21-year-old Colombian.

This new bid is, however, expected to be rejected by the Seagulls, as they are reportedly holding out for an €80 million fee.

Brighton were also said to have turned down a €55 million verbal proposal from Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea, who beat them to the signature of Mhykailo Mudryk.

Arsenal need Caicedo

Arsenal are, on the evidence on ground, willing to pay up to €70 million for a player Brighton signed for €5 million only two years ago.

The former Independiente midfielder has displayed his quality since making his Premier League debut only last season and has become subject to many transfer interests, including Arsenal’s.

The Gunners are the current Premier League leaders, and with squad depth being a possible Achilles heel in their title charge, the Gunners would look to consolidate their current position by ensuring strength in depth. They have already signed Trossard from Brighton to fix similar issues in the attack.
