Serie A giants Juventus have been deducted 15 points by an Italian soccer court after investigating the club's transfer dealings

Juventus have been deducted 15 points after inflating transfer values and lying to financial officials in an attempt to save money.

An investigation was opened last year regarding the club's finances with it being claimed that their losses had been misrepresented between 2018 and 2020.

Juventus hit with points deduction

Juventus denied any wrongdoing but the Federal Court of the Italian Football Federation has found them guilty and slapped them with a huge points deduction.

As well as the points deduction, the board members have been hit with suspensions by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

The Federation confirmed the punishment in a statement that read: "The Federal Court of Appeal presided over by Mario Luigi Torsello has partially accepted the appeal of the Federal Prosecutor's Office, sanctioning Juventus with 15 penalty points to be served in the current football season.

Also with a series of inhibitions for 11 Juventus executives. 30 months for Fabio Paratici, 24 months for Andrea Agnelli and Maurizio Arrivabene, 16 months for Federico Cherubini, and 8 months for Pavel Nedved.

What this means for Juventus

This is a huge blow for Juventus by all accounts and one that could destabilize the club financially for the next season at least due to a lack of European football.

The Bianconeri may be able to appeal against the punishment, which will leave them in 10th place in Serie A after the points are deducted.
