NFF reaches agreement with gaming giant Gamr to boost Esports in the country

Nigeria is set to participate in the pinnacle of esports competition in the World, the FIFAe Nations Cup Competition.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has reached an agreement with Esports Gamr to support the Nigerian football governing body in a technical capacity.

The deal with Gamr will see the esports and gaming technology company act as a 'Technical Partner' for the participation of the federation in the FIFA approved FIFAe Nations Cup Competition.

The new President Mohammed Gusau alongside Gamr reps and Lagos State Sports Commission boss.

The FIFAe Nations Cup is the pinnacle event for esports players to represent their countries on a global stage.

This competition involves players competing for their country at the regional level and then, qualifying as one of the 24 Nations to participate in the finals.

A good opportunity for Nigerian Esports community

Speaking on the development, the President of the Nigerian Esports Federation, Clinton Agbor, stated that the partnership is a good opportunity for Nigerian Esports lovers to showcase their talents.

“This is a good opportunity for Nigerian FIFA esports players to showcase their talent, through the FIFAe Nations Cup Competition,” Agbor said.

The Federation also added that both the partnership between the three stakeholders will do well to bring more opportunities to FIFA esports players in Nigeria and foster collaboration amongst stakeholders in the ecosystem as a whole.

In partnership with the Nigeria Esports Federation, the initial campaign will feature a comprehensive grassroot program for the emergence of player representatives that will represent Nigeria in the online qualifiers in April, 2023.

The latest developement sees Gamr continue to strengthen its presence in the country having has organised over 300+ tournaments, including the Nigeria University Games Association, NUGA.
