Nigeria's Anthony Joshua sends message to Edo Man Deontay Wilder
Despite Deontay Wilder's unexpected loss to Joseph Parker, Anthony Joshua has not ruled out a rematch with the American.
On the Day of Reckoning card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night, Wilder and Joshua both featured.
To potentially face each other in a world title eliminator, the two former heavyweight champions were expected to win their respective matches against Parker and Otto Wallin.
But when Parker defeated Wilder by a wide margin on the scoreboard, their plans were called into question.
To continue his comeback in 2023, Joshua fulfilled his end of the bargain, stopping Wallin after five rounds.
Anthony Joshua on Deontay Wilder
Joshua spoke with TNT Sports on Wilder's loss after his victory over Wallin.
He said, "I heard he lost, so what? He'll come back. But it shows that its fine margins in this business.
"No one is running, ducking from anyone. I need to focus on this man. But everything Deontay said about me, I could rip him apart right now.
"I'm going to take the higher ground. I hope he comes back."
Joshua thinks the former WBC heavyweight champion might still be able to return in the future.
Joshua is now expected to take on Filip Hrgovic for the IBF title following the undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
