Edo Man Deontay Wilder is set to face Nigerian-born Lawrence Okolie for the WBC bridgerweight title.

If Deontay Wilder defeats Zhilei Zhang in the 5vs5 match this weekend in Riyadh, he will have another chance to win the WBC title.

Lawrence Okolie, the new WBC bridgerweight champion, is pursuing the former heavyweight champion, who is shut out at his current weight because to an uncontested rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Though he has vowed never to compete in the 224-pound weight class, Wilder does not appear to be nearing a championship.

Trainer Joe Gallagher said the puncher, who typically weighs in under the bridgerweight limit, will get an offer from Okolie shortly.

Since Wilder had previously expressed interest in reducing to cruiserweight, the option has existed since the WBC established the bridgerweight category.

Should Wilder accept a firm offer and be out of the running to face Oleksandr Usyk, Jared Anderson, or Anthony Joshua? The possibility that "The Bronze Bomber" would decline a huge matchup in the UK at the O2 Arena seems questionable in that scenario.

With Zhang, the Chinese juggernaut, Wilder has his hands very busy and is aware that a poor performance on Saturday night could mean the end of his career.
