Gabe Vincent got injured as the Miami Heat lost Game 4 to the Boston Celtics.

In the fourth quarter of the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat Nigerian professional basketball player Gabe Vincent had a clumsy landing after a jump shot in front of the home bench.

The dangerous play gave the already injury-stricken Miami Heat a worrisome moment.

After the play, Vincent and a member of the Heat medical staff proceeded to the locker room. 

Vincent led the Heat in scoring in Game 3 with 29 points and has been a key player this playoffs.

He ultimately made it back into the game after missing around three minutes, but he was unable to stop the Heat from losing Game 4 to the Boston Celtics.

Vincent would be assessed on Wednesday to see if the injury changes overnight, according to Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

Spoelstra commended Vincent for being ready to come back into the game and test his ankle.

He said, “We’ll have to find out tomorrow. Whenever you ask these guys, they are like, ‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ So we’ll see.

“Gabe is as tough as they come. He just wanted to — he said, ‘Let me retape it.’

"We have a lot of guys in the locker room like that. You know, all year long they have been putting themselves out there. 

"So yeah, that’s why he has so much respect in the locker room.”

Vincent is key to the Miami Heat, especially with Victor Oladipo injured.

Vincent and the Miami Heat now travel to the Boston Celtics for Game 5 scheduled for Thursday, May 25, 2023, at TD Garden
