Kiki Iriafen: Nigerian-born star makes 1st WNBA 3-pointer as Mystics beat Fever
Nigerian-born Kiki Iriafen led the Washington Mystics to a hard-fought 88-84 victory over the Indiana Fever in a WNBA clash at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Iriafen, a 6-3 forward was drafted fourth overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Iriafen makes WNBA history
The former USC star recorded 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 block in the victory for the Mystics.
She played an important role as the Mystics trailing early but mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter.
Her shooting efficiency was impressive, going 6-8 from the field, 1-1 from beyond the arc, and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
She made her first career three-pointer as she continues to expand her game.

This performance also marked her 11th double-double of the season the most by any rookie this season.
Iriafen's performance was complemented by fellow rookier Sonia Citron, who added 21 points, 3 assists, and 3 three-pointers.
Iriafen who was born in the United States has quickly adapted to the professional level following her time at in college at Stanford and USC.
