The Cleveland Cavaliers recorded a 116-114 victory away against the Brooklyn Nets in an NBA fixture played in the early hours of Friday, March 24, 2023.

The Brooklyn Nets put up 33 points in the first quarter to take a two-point lead.

The Cavaliers bounced back in the back-and-forth second quarter to reduce the lead to one point at the halftime break.

The Brooklyn Nets came out hot in the third quarter to extend their lead to six points.

The Cavaliers battled back in the fourth quarter to cut the Nets' lead down to one.

Donovan Mitchell missed a free throw to tie the game and the rebound came to Isaac Okoro to make a clutch three to win the game.

American professional basketball player of Nigerian descent Isaac Nnamdi Okoro was the hero for the Cavaliers in the victory against the Nets.

Okoro maintained his place in the Cavs starting lineup and featured for 30 minutes in the victory.

The game between the Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets was pivotal to the standings n the Eastern Conference with the Miami Heat lurking behind before tip-off.

The 22-year-old contributed 11 points, one rebound, and one assist. He made four of his five shots including three of four from three-point range.

Speaking to Bally Sports Cleveland after the game, Okoro explained his clutch shot.

He said, "All I know is I mean the ball went out I saw bird get it.

"I went to my spot in the corner first my teammate trust me passing the ball believing in me to show confidence."

Okoro after the game was given the Cavaliers' defensive player of the game chain.
