Zaire, who shot six for 10 from the field, ended the game with 17 points, three rebounds and five assists.

NBA legend Dwyane Wade watched from the sidelines as his son Zaire Wade and the Cape Town Tigers lost their third game of the Basketball Africa League Nile Conference Wednesday night.

At one point in the first half, the former Miami Heat guard had to follow his son to the locker room to see how serious his injury was.

The guard limped off in the second quarter but was able to return to the game.

Cape Town was in control of the game then and continued until late in the fourth quarter when Beira took charge and registered their second win.

Zaire would make a comeback into the game but failed to inspire a strong finish down the stretch as the Tigers dropped to a 1-3 record with one game to play.

The two sides came into the game with a similar 1-2 record and were well aware of the task at hand.

The tightly contested affair reached the halfway point, with both teams tied at 39-39.

The South African side, however, broke away by taking the third frame 26-17 to lead by nine points going into the fourth quarter.

There was work to do for the team from Mozambique, and Ismael Nurmamade made some big shots midway through the frame to get Beira into the driving seat.

Will Perry and Najeal Young all came alive when the stakes were high down the stretch to get Beira over the line.

Zaire, who shot six for 10 from the field, ended the game with 17 points, three rebounds and five assists.

But it was the Young (26), Nurmamade (20) and Bourama Sidibe (19) whose points won the game for Beira.

Perry recorded nine crucial points, with most coming in the game's final stages, including a perfect five for five from the free throw line.

The win leaves Beira closer to qualification for the playoffs, while Zaire and the Tigers must now win their final game against City Oilers to stand any chance.
