Okoro struggles as Brunson propels New York Knicks to blow out Cleveland Cavaliers

The New York Knicks recorded a 99-79 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in an NBA Eastern Conference round one Game 3 NBA Playoff fixture in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, 2023.

The Knicks shocked the Cavs to take Game 1 but the higher seed responded well to take Game 2.

In a low-scoring game, the Knicks and Cavaliers both put up 17 points to end the first quarter even.

The Knicks was pushed by their home fans at Madison Square Garden in the second quarter to produce 28 points and take a 13-point lead to the half-time break.

The Knicks continued to pour it on and extended their lead to 17 at the end of the third quarter.

The Cavaliers were stifled on offense as the Knicks held on in the fourth quarter to take a 20-point win.

The Knicks were led to their first home playoff victory in three years by young point guard Jalen Brunson.

He produced 20 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals.

In 38 minutes of action, Brunson made 10 of 18 shots and missed all four attempts from three-point range.

American professional basketball player of Nigerian descent Isaac Okoro struggled against the Knicks.

In Game 3 against the Knicks, Okoro took the bench. He began Game 2 but left after three minutes and never came back. 

Caris LeVert was kept in his position as a result of the Cavaliers' decision to rely on him.

Okoro put up seven points, and two rebounds in 13 minutes of action off the bench.

The Knicks will aim to extend their lead when they host the Cavaliers in Game 4 on Monday, April 24, 2023.
