The Atlanta Hawks recorded a 130-122 victory against the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of an NBA Eastern Conference round one Playoff fixture in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, 2023.

After defeating the Miami Heat in the play-in tournament to progress to the playoffs the Hawks have not been in good form.

They lost Game 1 and Game 2 in blowout fashion and needed a massive response to stay alive in the series.

Hawks beat Celtics

The Hawks playing in front of their home fans started off hot but the Celtics responded to take a four-point lead.

The Hawks in the second quarter went nuclear putting up 41 points to take a seven-point lead to the halftime break.

In the third quarter, the Celtics and the Hawks were even as they traded buckets.

The Celtics were unable to make an extended run to tie the game as the Hawks held on for an eight-point victory.

Trae Young shines for Hawks against Celtics

The Hawks were able to return to winning ways thanks to incredible play by point guard Trae Young.

He put up 32 points, nine assists, one steal, six rebounds, and two blocks.

In 37 minutes of action, he was able to make 12 of 22 shots, including two of six from three-point range, and was a perfect six from the free throw line.
