The Sacramento Kings recorded a 135-127 victory against the Phoenix Suns in an NBA western conference matchup played in the early hours of Saturday, March 25, 2023.

The Kings chasing the Memphis Grizzlies for the second seed in the west were behind by six points at the end of the first quarter.

The Suns playing without Kevin Durant continued to make it rain from deep in the second quarter to establish an 11-point lead at the halftime break.

The Kings led by Mike Brown the former Nigeria national basketball team coach produced an outstanding 45 points in the third quarter to establish an eight-point advantage.

Both teams traded buckets to produce 34 points each in the fourth quarter as the Kings held on for a much-needed victory in front of their home fans.

Chimezie Metu shines for the Kings against Suns

Nigerian-American professional basketball player Chimezie Chukwudum Metu provided a spark off the bench for the Sacramento Kings in the victory against the Phoenix Suns.

Metu who recently celebrated his 26th birthday,  featured for 11 minutes in the clash.

He contributed six points, grabbed two rebounds, and recorded one steal. Metu made three of his four shots and did not attempt any from three-point range.

Metu's highlight of the game came in the third quarter when he received a pass from Davion Mitchell and produced a monster dunk against Australian Suns center Jock Landale.

Chimezie Metu lights beam for Kings

Metu after the game was responsible for lighting the beam with positive chants from fans.

The beam light from the Kings Arena in Sacramento is done after every home victory.

Metu returns to action on the second night of a back-to-back as the Kings welcome the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
