Noah Lyles powered to his fourth consecutive 200m world title at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships., joining Usain Bolt in the elite list as the only male athletes in history to attain such a feat.

The American speedster with a lot to prove after his Paris Olympics final loss, showed again why he's a championship performer by rising to the occasion loudest, clocking a blistering time of 19.52s.

He defeated his fierce country rival Kenny Bednarek, who ran an outstanding race as well but was only enough for another silver medal in a Season's Best (SB) of 19.58s, as Jamaica's new kid on the block Bryan Levell settled for bronze in a personal best of 19.64s, out dipping Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo by just 0.01s.

With his astonishing victory, Lyles equalled Bolt's record of four consecutive world titles, continually strengthening his position as the greatest in the event after the legendary Jamaican.

β€œI can't wait for 2027 (the next World Championships in Beijing) to become the only man to win five 200m titles,” he said afterwards.

β€œI don't have good memories from Tokyo in 2021. At that time, I was depressed, but this time I am energised. I love what I do, and I am happy. I have the best support staff and the best crowd I could have ever asked for. My face is blasted everywhere over Tokyo. This is amazing and such a joyous moment I am going to keep with me forever.” 

Lyles now has seven world titles in his name (four in the 200m, one in the 100m, and two in the 4x100m), steadily engraving his legacy as one of the greatest in the men's sprint category whenever he retires.
