Running her second 100m race of the season, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden outclassed Gabby Thomas and the stacked women's field to win the 100m short sprint category at the Grand Slam Track in Miami.
The Paris Olympics bronze medallist clocked an outstanding 10.75s (2.4m/s) for the needed victory, ahead of a fast-finishing Tamari Davis in 10.79s, while Nigeria's sprint sensation finished an impressive third in 10.94s.
Surprisingly, Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas despite clocking her first career sub-11s time in all conditions with 10.97s settled for fourth, edging Jacious Sears in 10.98s.
