What really happened to Sha'Carri Richardson at the Seiko Grand Prix? Fans dig out possible reasons for her season opener loss in Tokyo, citing an injury.
Days after Sha'Carri Richardson was defeated in her 100m season opener at the Seiko Grand Prix in Tokyo, fans and pundits have continued to question her loss and possible injury, digging out a post on a previous doctor's appointment.
The American sprint queen competing in her first race in eight months, looked out of pace after the first 30m and couldn't gear into her trademark top-end speed to the finish line.

She was stunned by Australia's sensation Bree Rizzo, who blazed to a famous victory in 11.38s (-0.9m/s), outrunning American Twanisha Terry in second in 11.42s, while Richardson was fourth in 11.47s.
After the race, fans noticed Richardson's rustiness, also wearing a compression sleeve on her calf for precautions, suggesting the track star could be recovering from a calf sprain, and she's just getting back to fitness.

"I don’t think Carri did a lot of strength training this offseason, That’s telling me she was/is dealing with some injury! Not sure about the severity but she didn’t have a lot of power!," wrote an X user @mytrackality.
Following this, some fans have now dug out her appointment with a sports scientist back in February, when she went to visit renowned Foot & Ankle doctor, Gideon Lewis.
Despite the worries surrounding her fitness, some track enthusiasts remain optimistic about her returning to her best as the season is still a long one ahead, and she will be ready on time to defend her world 100m title in Tokyo this summer.
