World champion and record holder Tobi Amusan, will be racing in her first meet since September 2022.

World Record holder Tobi Amusan will be making her 2023 season's debut on Friday, running the 200m at the Tiger Track Classic, hosted by the University of Auburn.

Amusan skipped the indoor season, not making any competitive appearances since the beginning of the year. Now that the indoor season is done, she has been scheduled to compete this weekend.

Her outdoor Personal Best (PB) in the 200m is 22.60s, and she's the fastest in the midst of college athletes lined up in her heat. University of Auburn's trio Arianna Sharpe (23.50s), Ashantae Harvey (23.52s), Chante Clinkscale (23.63s), and Troy University's Naveyh Frost (24.11s) make up the start list in her heat.

Amusan will be hoping to put up a good performance through lowering her PB, as she prepares for the rest of the season in her trademark event, the 100m Hurdles.

Friday's meet will be Amusan's first competitive appearance since she successfully defended her Diamond League 100mH title in September 2022, with a Meeting Record of 12.29s to cap off her historic 2022 season.

The spotlight will be on the World champion in all meets she's present at this year as she prepares to retain her world title in Budapest.
