Rangers will look like Super Eagles - Ilechukwu says AFCON experience will transform his club
Rangers International head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed confidence that his experience at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will significantly improve the Enugu-based club.
Ilechukwu was part of the Super Eagles’ technical crew that guided Nigeria to a third-place finish at the continental tournament in Morocco.
What Ilechukwu said
Speaking after returning to club duties on Thursday, the former Plateau United coach said the exposure to elite football standards has strengthened his vision for Rangers.
According to Ilechukwu, working closely with top international players and coaches has provided valuable insights he intends to replicate at the club level.
“In the next few years, Rangers International will look like this current Super Eagles squad. Hopefully, the state and the people will benefit from what we are building,” he said.
The coach added that the AFCON experience reinforced his technical philosophy and renewed his determination to build a team capable of sustained success in Nigerian and African football.
Ilechukwu has turned his attention back to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Rangers are set to face Warri Wolves this Sunday as they continue their campaign for domestic honours.
