Algeria comes into this knockout match full of confidence after winning all three of its group games. With coach Vladimir Petkovic in charge, the Desert Foxes have looked sharp in attack, scoring six goals and letting in just one.

The team seems mentally strong and ready to go far, especially after their early exit in the last AFCON.

On the other hand, DR Congo made it to the Round of 16, thanks to their solid defending and team discipline. They came second in their group with one win and two draws.

Algeria and DR Congo have met five times in the past, and all those encounters were feisty. While Algeria had won two of the five previous matches, the remaining three had ended in a draw. The last time both teams met in an International friendly match, the North African team emerged victorious by scoring 3 unreplied goals.​
