Steve Cooper explains Brøndby’s decision

Brøndby coach Steve Cooper has explained that Dennis’ versatility was a major factor behind the move, with the Nigerian capable of filling multiple attacking roles.

The pair worked together at Nottingham Forest, where Dennis made 25 appearances under Cooper, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Speaking about the signing, Cooper told Bold: "He can play on the wing and right up front at the same level, so he is flexible.

“But we need one or two more in attack because we want to be a team where all players are playing for a place in the starting eleven in the following game, and therefore we need more breadth in the squad."

Cooper also revealed that Dennis earned his contract after impressing during the first week of Brøndby’s training camp, convincing the coaching staff that he could add depth and competition to their attacking options.

What comes next for Dennis in Denmark

Although the deal is complete, Dennis has not yet featured for Brøndby, missing their Atlantic Cup clash against MLS side Seattle Sounders at Estadio Algarve.

The 28-year-old is currently in England finalising his residence and work permit formalities as he prepares to start a new life in Denmark.

Once those are approved, he is expected to link up fully with the squad, a process Brøndby believe could run into February.

For Dennis, the move represents a fresh chance to revive his career after a difficult spell, while Brøndby hope his experience from the Premier League, Club Brugge and Watford will bring added quality and competition to their forward line.
