Rwanda's men's national football team, known as the Amavubi have set up camp in Uyo, Nigeria, to fine-tune their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Super Eagles.

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) arrived in Nigeria earlier this week, touching down in Lagos before heading to Uyo, hitting the gym to shake off travel fatigue.
The team had multiple training sessions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, for the high-stakes encounter.

Rwanda to hunt Nigeria
The Federation has now taken to social media to issue a massive statement ahead of the game.
Along with the post were pictures wearing vibrant yellow jerseys and green shorts.

The message said, "Beneath the Akpabio lights, Amavubi rise, spread their wings, Feet whispering dreams across the grass,
"The hunt for glory no longer a promise, It is written in every stride.
"Imyitozo ya mbere y’Amavubi UYO yagenze neza."

The Amavubi come into the game following a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in their last outing.
Rwanda currently sit second in their qualifying group with eight points, just one ahead of Nigeria, who trail in fourth with seven points.
Rwanda takes on Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with kickoff at 5 PM.
