Inter set to move on from Lookman after identifying another target with same money
Inter are reportedly working on signing Roma midfielder Manu Kone, with the money initially put aside to complete the acquisition of Ademola Lookman, suggesting that they are staying through their promise of jettisoning the plans to buy the Nigerian after a certain date.
Kone instead of Lookman?
The Nerazurri have had two bids rejected for the Nigerian forward, one €40 million offer and another for €45 million, with Atalanta insisting on €50 million.
According to Sky Sports, per Fanpage. It, Inter have accelerated their plans to sign Manu Kone and are readying an initial bid of €40 million.
The Giallorossi are open to the sale, and should they accept the bid, it is highly likely that it would spell the end of the Nerazurri’s pursuit of Lookman.
Inter's deadline
As Pulse Sports reported, Inter president Beppe Marotta set a definitive timeline for their pursuit of Ademola Lookman, despite admitting their keen interest in the Nigerian.
In quotes relayed by Sempre Inter, Marotta admitted a long-standing interest in the Nigerian but explained that they had to maintain respect for Atalanta in their dealings. He also said that they will not chase Lookman for the entirety of the window and will stop trying to pursue other targets.
