American boxer Jake Paul named Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the 10 most overrated athletes of all time.
The former YouTuber turned professional boxer cuts a controversial figure. While he is already making waves in the boxing world with his upcoming bout against former two-time heavyweight Anthony Joshua, he has now triggered attention from other sports communities with his latest comment.
10 most overrated athletes of all time — Jake Paul
In a clip now making the rounds on social media, the emerging boxer famed for commercially successful fights against Mike Tyson and Tommy Fury made a list of 10 athletes across sports whom he finds overrated.
He started the list strongly, naming baseball icon Babe Ruth, widely regarded as the greatest pitcher of all time. The second on the list was Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars’s quarterback. He opined that the 26-year-old was overrated and undeserving of his $55 million annual salary.
Ronaldo was his third casualty, prefaced with an admittance that adding the Portuguese to the list will cause an uproar. The fourth and fifth on his list were from combat sports: Ryan Garcia (boxing) and Conor McGregor (MMA).

Sixth on his list was Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott. Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards was the only NBA star on the list, taking the seventh spot.
Canelo Alvarez, widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, was eighth. Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa was ninth, and his opponent on December 19th at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, was the last on the list.
Messi is the GOAT — Jake Paul
With his opinion on Ronaldo, it's no surprise what Jake Paul thinks about Lionel Messi, as opinions on both players tend to be polarising.
While watching the 2022 World Cup final, in which Argentina triumphed over France, he said, “Hard to admit as an American...but Messi may be the greatest athlete ever. 5’7, 148 lbs...Greatest non-penalty scorer of all time, greatest assister of all time.”
