The Reds appeared to be cruising towards victory after a brace from Hugo Ekitike put them 2-0 ahead with just 20 minutes remaining.

However, a stunning collapse allowed the home side to snatch a point, leaving the Red frustrated.

Speaking after the games, Neville was disappointed to see that Liverpool could not hold a two-goal lead against Leeds.

"Liverpool, you just can't trust them," Neville declared on Sky Sports. "You thought it could happen. Arne Slot can't believe it. It's a mystery that continues. His team just implodes."

The former Manchester United captain added, "Liverpool's implosion, I said it before, is real. This was a game that was comfortable for them at 2-0.

“For Liverpool, it's despair; they're inconsistent and you can't trust them. You always think something is going to go wrong. They make mistake after mistake after mistake."

The result meant Liverpool missed the chance to climb into the top five, leaving them in eighth place and a full 10 points behind league leaders Arsenal.

After a promising 2-0 victory at West Ham, the Reds' recent form has been a cause for concern, following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Sunderland at Anfield before this collapse in Yorkshire.
