Yohan Blake urges young athletes to 'Dream Big' reminiscing on historic world championship moment from 2011
Jamaican sprint icon Yohan Blake has urged young athletes to dream big after sharing a throwback video of his historic world championship gold medal moment from 2011.
The four-time Olympic medallist reminisced on his world championships winning moment from Daegu 2011, posting the race video on his X page with the caption:
"On August 28, a young boy from Bogue Hill, Montego Bay, St. James, born to humble parents Sherly and Veta Blake, became the youngest 100m world champion. He remains the youngest champion to this day! This remarkable achievement inspires aspiring young people to dream big."

Blake won the world 100m title in Daegu in a time of 9.92 seconds, thus becoming the youngest 100 metres world champion ever at 21 years, 245 days. He surpassed the legendary Carl Lewis, who won the event at the 1983 World Championships at the age of 22 years, 38 days.
He would go on to have an iconic career, capped by being the second fastest man in history behind Usain Bolt, with respective 100m and 200m personal bests of 9.69s and 19.26s. He also won silver medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games and played a vital role in the Jamaican 4x100m relay squad clinching the gold medal.
Highly rated as one of the most talented sprinters ever, his career was marred by consistent injuries, which hampered his progress and prevented him from fulfilling his full potential.
Now 35, Blake is still actively running but has struggled to bounce back in the elite league of the world's best sprinters.
