I will help with World Cup qualification — Sunday Oliseh open to Super Eagles return despite disastrous first stint
In an intriguing interview, former Super Eagles skipper Sunday Oliseh has sensationally offered his services to the troubled Nigerian national team.
The football legend's explosive comments come as the team finds itself embroiled in CHAOS following Finidi George's catastrophic stint at the helm.
Oliseh wants Super Eagles return
Finidi, appointed in March to replace Jose Peseiro, spectacularly crashed and burned, lasting a mere month before being forced to resign after a woeful run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
His brief tenure saw Nigeria humiliated at home in a draw against South Africa, before suffering a shocking defeat to minnows Benin Republic, leaving their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.
Now, with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in disarray and yet to confirm George's resignation, Oliseh has made a dramatic plea to return and rescue the flailing side.
In a heart-wrenching appeal, Oliseh declared: "Let's not deceive ourselves, I only have one country, forget that I have German pali. Nothing brings me more joy than my people."
The former midfield maestro passionately added: "If my country wants to speak with me, I will answer. I can also give technical assistance because we need to qualify for the World Cup."
Oliseh’s sensational come-get-me comments come five years after he infamously resigned as the Super Eagles coach.
You will recall that then 41-year-old took to social media to announce his resignation, citing ‘contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages and benefits to the team” as his reasons.
Five years on, the former Borussia Dortmund star seems ready to bury the hatchet and come save his country.
Will Oliseh be the SAVIOUR Nigeria so desperately needs? The Nigerian football community watches with bated breath!
