Neymar Jr. recently recounted the chat he had with Lionel Messi, his former teammate, prior to departing Barcelona in 2017.
Given that Neymar is frequently regarded as having peaked at Barcelona, many were taken aback by his decision to leave
For a record €222 million transfer fee, the Brazilian departed the Catalan team to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The Selecao star played for Barcelona from 2013 to 2017 and was a member of their illustrious treble-winning team in 2014–15.
Neymar Jr. helped the Catalan team, contributing 105 goals and 76 assists in 186 games.
Known as MSN (Messi, Suarez, Neymar), Neymar established an offensive combination with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez while he was at Barcelona.

On January 16, the Brazilian superstar will be interviewed by Romario on the latter's podcast.
A brief excerpt from the interview revealed that Neymar Jr. remembers a chat he had with Lionel Messi before departing Barcelona.
He said, "Messi came to me & said, "Why would you leave? Do you want to be the best in the world?
"I’m going to make you the best in the world."
Lionel Messi was forced to quit Barcelona in 2021 because of the club's financial difficulties.
After becoming a free agent and joining Paris Saint-Germain, he got back together with Neymar Jr.
Between 2021 to 2023, the two played together with PSG before moving on to Inter Miami and Al-Hilal, respectively.
