‘What a finish it is’ - Ex Arsenal star hails Chukwueze’s goal, compares it to Thierry Henry’s trademark finish

The Coattagers secured a 2-1 comeback victory against the Seagulls, with Chukwueze coming off the bench in the second half and proving to be the difference-maker.

His goal helped Fulham overturn a one-goal deficit to secure a vital victory at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The decisive moment came when the Nigerian international raced onto a precise long ball from defender Joachim Andersen and he expertly guided his shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Merson has compared the Nigerian winger's finish to the trademark style of Gunners legend Thierry Henry.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson was full of praise for the winger's technique and poise, drawing a direct parallel to the iconic French striker.

"What a finish it is! Thierry Henry-style, but on his left-hand side," Merson commented. "It's a great ball to him. Brilliant."

The goal was a perfect way for Chukwueze to mark his return to club action following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria. 

It also served as a continuation of the strong form he displayed for Fulham before leaving for the tournament.

With this latest strike, Chukwueze has now contributed three goals and four assists in ten Premier League appearances this season, establishing himself as a key figure in Fulham's attack.

After a difficult period in Italy, the 26-year-old's recent performances highlight his resurgence, and he will be keen to sustain this form as he aims to secure a permanent transfer to the London club in the summer.
