‘We’ve seen the team’ - Super Eagles captain warns teammates against complacency ahead of Mozambique clash
Nigeria enters Monday's showdown at the Stade de Fes as the strong favourite, boasting an unbeaten record against Mozambique with four wins and one draw in their five previous encounters.
Eric Chelle's team advanced impressively from the group stage, securing victories in all their matches.
Just like in 2021, they secured a perfect record in Group C, having nine points from their first three games.
Ndidi warns players
Despite Mozambique's FIFA ranking of 22nd in Africa, Ndidi stressed that their performance in the tournament so far proves they are a formidable opponent.
Speaking to the media, Ndidi shared his assessment of the Southern African team. "They are a very good team.
“They want to play, they are very aggressive, and they play like a team, so we’ve seen the team," he stated.
The midfielder confirmed that the Super Eagles have thoroughly analysed their opponents, noting their tenacity and fighting spirit.
"We've watched the group-stage game; they really fight," Ndidi explained. "The main focus is on us—how we approach the game, how we want it."
He concluded with a firm warning: "Tomorrow you’ll see, so we just focus on the game. But they are a very good team. No team in this tournament should be underrated. No team at all."
