Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed confidence ahead of Nigeria’s WAFCON qualifiers clash with the She-Cheetahs of the Benin Republic, emphasising that the team has moved past WAFCON glory and is focused on victory.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nnadozie noted that the squad is fully prepared for the challenge and motivated to begin a new chapter.

“The WAFCON has passed; we’ve put that behind us. The Benin Republic side are a good team. I’ve played with some of their players while in France. It’s a new phase and we are doing everything possible to win today,” she said.

The Falcons’ shot-stopper, who plies her trade in England with Brighton, acknowledged the strength of the Benin side but maintained that Nigeria’s focus remains on starting the qualifiers on a strong note.

Nnadozie’s leadership and experience will once again be important as Nigeria looks to secure an early qualification for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
