After just one-month, Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie was nominated for the PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month award.
Chiamaka Nnadozie was the best goalkeeper at WAFCON 2024.

What Nnadozie said

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nnadozie noted that the squad is fully prepared for the challenge and motivated to begin a new chapter.

“The WAFCON has passed; we’ve put that behind us. The Benin Republic side are a good team. I’ve played with some of their players while in France. It’s a new phase and we are doing everything possible to win today,” she said.

The Falcons’ shot-stopper, who plies her trade in England with Brighton, acknowledged the strength of the Benin side but maintained that Nigeria’s focus remains on starting the qualifiers on a strong note.

Nnadozie’s leadership and experience will once again be important as Nigeria looks to secure an early qualification for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
