Lopetegui, who paid £40 million to sign Max Kilman from Wolves last month, has his eyes set on a transformed Hammers defence.

According to reports from Daily Mail, West Ham are looking to add Wan Bissaka to their defensive lineup next season but are yet to place a bid for the defender.

The 26-year-old full-back has played in 190 games for the Red Devils, but the team may be willing to sell him to raise money for other transfers.

West Ham's interest came after the EPL side failed to agree a deal with Bayern Munich for right-back Noussair Mazraoui.

It was reported that a disagreement on the 'agent's side' led to a fallout between both parties, leaving Man United to swoop in at the last minute.

If Manchester United get a deal done for Noussair Mazraoui, they could be looking to let Wan Bissaka leave for West Ham.

However, a transfer of Wan-Bissaka would be necessary to fund any deal involving the Bundesliga player, as United has reportedly reduced their demands to between £10m and £15m, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany.
