Runjaić reveals when Okoye will leave for AFCON

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Saturday, Runjaić stated that the Nigerian international will join his national team following Udinese's game against Napoli at the Bluenergy Stadium on Sunday, December 14.

"We're considering this issue. After Napoli, we'll probably no longer have Rui Modesto, Okoye, Bayo, and Zemura, but we've known about it for some time," the manager explained.

The club's decision is in line with FIFA regulations, which mandate that clubs must release their players for the tournament.

FIFA had previously set a deadline of December 15 for players to be made available to their national teams.

Since his return to action, Okoye has been a key figure for Udinese, keeping two clean sheets and saving a penalty in seven league appearances.

His departure will be a notable absence for the Italian club as they pursue qualification for either the UEFA Europa League or the Conference League.
