'We won the game in the first 10 mins' - Enzo Maresca finally reacts to Chelsea Vs PSG final
Chelsea’s dominant 3–0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final was more than a win, it was a statement, and manager Enzo Maresca delivered one of the finest tactical masterclasses of recent memory.
In the crushing heat of MetLife Stadium, Maresca’s side dismantled the European giants inside the first half hour, setting the tone and never looking back.
What Maresca said
Reflecting on the final, Maresca said, “No words for the players. They deserve it. For me, we won the game in the first 10 minutes. We set the tempo, we set the play we wanted to play.”
He added that aggressive, high-intensity pressing from the outset unsettled PSG and prevented them from settling into their rhythm.
“Then, unfortunately, with the weather conditions it is not easy to continue for 90 minutes. But I think we won the game in the first 10 minutes,” he added.
Post-match chaos marred the celebrations when PSG coach Luis Enrique pushed forward Chelsea’s João Pedro, touching off a brawl involving players and staff.
Maresca later admitted confusion over the incident and distanced himself from the conflict.
