We signed the best — Guardiola hails Manchester City star after win over Fulham

Pep Guardiola has claimed, albeit jokingly, that summer signing Josko Gvardiol is the best winger on the planet.

Gvardiol, who arrived from RB Leipzig in a 100m deal, scored twice as City beat Fulham 4-0 on Saturday.

The Croatian has now scored five goals in the last seven games for the champions, all of which have been crucial.

When asked about the defender’s form, Guardiola told BBC Radio: “The first goal… we signed the best winger on the planet!

"After Wolves, three days off, he was the only one who went to the training centre for his recovery.

“We make an incredible signing for many, many years to come.”
