‘We need Eric Chelle at Chelsea’ - Fans hails Super Eagles coach after leading Nigeria to AFCON semi-final

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a spot in the semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday evening.

The Eagles defeated Algeria 2-0 in the quarter-final in an impressive fashion and will face the host nation, Morocco, in their next game.

Second-half strikes from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams proved sufficient to defeat the Desert Warriors, resulting in their elimination from the competition.

A lot of reactions have covered the whole of social media after Nigeria defeated Algeria in the quarter-final of the AFCON competition.

Chelle, who recently clocked one year as the head coach of the Super Eagles, received praise for making the Nigerian team a good side to watch.

Reacting on X, one fan said, “Deep down we need Eric Chelle at Chelsea Football Club. Bro single-handedly changed the playing style of the Nigerian Super Eagles. We are currently the best team in African football.”
