‘We lack goals’ - Arteta opens up on Arsenal's hunt for new striker

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that his team lacks goals and they are searching for a striker.

The Gunners' quest for a reliable number nine has intensified following Gabriel Jesus's serious knee injury. As a result, the Gunners are short of attacking options as they aim to compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Arteta confirmed the club's need for a quality striker to boost their goal-scoring.

“My opinion is clear. We lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. We lack goals, we lack people and we lack options. It’s clear.

“If we can get the right player that’s why we are actively looking at it. We are working on it, yes. Any player? No. Someone who makes us better. We need some help. Yeah (There is work going on now), " Arteta said.

With the January transfer window closing within a week, Arsenal face a race against time to secure their target.
