‘We haven’t had it so good in recent years’ - Obafemi hails Osimhen, Moffi and Lookman
Former Nigeria international Abiodun Obafemi has lauded Super Eagles attackers Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Terem Moffi.
The trio have been in brilliant form this season with Osimhen and Moffi each scoring 12 league goals for Napoli and Lorient respectively while Lookman has nine for Atalanta.
Obafemi who was part of the Nigeria squad that won gold in the football tournament of the Atlanta ’96 Olympics has been impressed by the trio.

“We haven’t had it so good in recent years. Nobody will contest this,” Obafemi spoke in praise of the trio to Brila FM.
“(Victor) Osimhen is the hottest striker in Europe, and by extension in the world. He’s doing so well now and I believe he hasn’t reached his full potential,” Obafemi said on the Napoli striker.
Osimhen is at the forefront of Napoli's title charge as he has scored 12 goals in 14 league games to fire his team nine points clear at the top of the table while also leading the league in scoring.
“Lookman has also surpassed expectations. There are so many of them doing good at the moment, Terem Moffi as well. Long may it continue,” the 49-year-old former defender said optimistically about the current crop of Super Eagles strikers.
Obafemi's comments about Lookman stem from the fact that the Atalanta winger has already scored nine goals this season, which is more than any of his previous seasons since debuting professionally in 2015.
Obafemi played one game in Nigeria’s Olympic gold medal run at Atlanta ‘96 and made two appearances for the Super Eagles both in friendly games against Cameroon and Tunisia in 1997.
He spent most of his career in Germany, turning out for Fortuna Köln, Fortuna Düsseldorf and FC Augsburg, while also playing for France’s Toulouse.
