‘We believe in what we do’ - Ruben Dias fires a shot at Arsenal ahead of clash
The animosity between the two title contenders has grown since Manchester City edged out the Gunners for the Premier League title in both 2023 and 2024.
The rivalry between the two clubs continues to grow, with another clash expected at the Emirates on Sunday, following two intense encounters last season.
The Gunners had the upper hand last season, claiming a 2-2 draw at the Etihad and thrashing the Citizens 5-1 at the Emirates.
What Dias said
Ahead of the game, as reported by the Sun, Dias insists City remains unfazed by any external noise. "I don't really care about them. I just care about us," he stated, as reported by the Sun.
"If other people want to play games because of rivalries or whatever feeds them, then go ahead. We believe in what we do. And we do it for ourselves, our families, our fans and our club."
"That's the way to be—and that's how you pull off what we pulled off," Dias added. "Nothing is bigger in our minds than knowing we have to be the best version of ourselves. It doesn't matter who we are playing against."
Tensions flared at the Etihad last season when Erling Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel's head and later exchanged words with Miles Lewis-Skelly.
Both incidents occurred during Arsenal's 5-1 victory at the Emirates, where the Arsenal players were seen winding up the City striker.
